Hey everyone, me, my brother, and my dad are going up to leech lake form june 13-20. We have neever fished there so we wanted to know where to fish for walleyes & crappies during that time. Also, what baits or lures should we use and how should we fish. Any tips, advice, or stories would be greatly appreciated.
I would look for points that have been catching some wind.
Fish around those points with a jig and minnow or a lindy rig and minnow.
The walleye have been going real good from all the reports I've heard although I haven't been up there this year yet to find out personally.
You'll probably get a good idea of where to go based on the groups of boats. Take a look at what kind of structure they are fishing and then try to find similar areas to it. These other spots may likely hold fish as well and you'll be able to get away from the crowd which can make a big difference.

If you've got short, stubby fingers and wear reading glasses, any relaxation you would normally derive from fly fishing is completely eliminated when you try to tie on a fly. ~ Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing, 1988
