We decided to hit the Minnesota River in search of Huge Flathead and Channel Catfish mainly based on some recent promising reports! Although the Catfish in the end didn't really cooperate like we had hoped with just a few smaller Channels landed we did catch some NICE "other" Fish. The slower than expected fishing wasn't for lack of effort thats for sure. We launched about 7pm and stayed out until 5am and we threw everything we had at them. Live bullheads, Suckers, Creek Chubs along with Shad, Cut Chub and Cut Sucker were used to entice some big Minnesota River Cats.
A couple of our bonus Fish for the evening.
Personal Best for my friend Kou, 30.5" Minnesota River Walleye caught on a 7" Bullhead and a 17lb Carp caught on cut Creek Chub also a personal best!
I'm sure when we enter the Moore's Walleye contest we'll get a big Flathead Catfish...
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
