Might want to try the 'ol slip bobbering in 10 to 20'. Use leeches on the bobber or casting a jig and minnow. Late evening into after dark have been the best for 'eyes though most are small. Seems a bit better then last year because the iceout was normal.
The biggest one was about 16", but nice and fat. We got a lot right at 15". Most were just short of the 15" limit. Still very fun. Last year we only got one northern and one walleye. It might have been the most fish I have caught in my 26 years of coming to Blackduck. It was like the old days when I was a kid fishing with my Grandpa
