I am going up to Lake Kabetogama the weekend after the opener and I can use some help.

I've fished Namakin in the fall with good success, but I've fished Kab only once in the spring and that was years ago. We fished Nebraska Bay primarly and did well, but I am curious about other areas that are productive early.

We are going to camp on the east end of the lake and I'd be most interested in the Ash River to Sugarbush Island area.

any suggestions?

I would give the west side a try for that time of year... Tom Cod Bay, Cemetery Island, Bittersweet, etc. Make sure you fish fairly shallow in the morning and evenings and deeper around mid-day.
