So I bought some floro line today to make some leaders to use with my powerpro line for finese bass fishing (for context, I don't walleye fish) My thought was to use a barrel swivel and about 20 inches of floro carbon 14-20 pound test. Then just tie the floro direct to my lure of choice. Is this a good plan? Any suggested modifications?
Make sure you wet your line because the friction will weaken your know. Pull slowly. I had a problem a couple years ago because I pulled to tight in checking the test and weaken the knot. There is a lot of good info on the web about knots. Flo really works well in clear water Keep it tight, Boster
Sorry about the spelling sent b4 I checked. I also wanted to add I would suggest using about 3 foot of leader. You can also use a heavier test leader because the fish cannot see the leader. Now you have to be careful because a heavy test leader may cause the lure action to be different. Boster
If you've got short, stubby fingers and wear reading glasses, any relaxation you would normally derive from fly fishing is completely eliminated when you try to tie on a fly. ~ Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing, 1988
