I was lucky enough to be drawn for this years Minnesota Spring Turkey Hunt. And even luckier is the property I get to Hunt on. Bobberdowns Family has a beautiful 40 acre woodlot that sits on Chub Lake with adjacent farm land boarding the other side of the Woods. It's a Turkey Palace to say the least with woods, water, farmland and little to no pressure being its private land.
After 4 days of being schooled by this Birds and on my last day I got lucky and bagged this nice Gobbler!
21.5 pounds... 8 1/2" Beard and 3/4" spurs~!
My Remmington 870 SuperMag Turkey Model came through big-time with a 20 yard head shot just after sunrise.
If you've got short, stubby fingers and wear reading glasses, any relaxation you would normally derive from fly fishing is completely eliminated when you try to tie on a fly. ~ Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing, 1988
