Ok folks here is the question of the day. I will be fishing leech, cass and pike the end of may first two weeks of June. Leech will be on May 29-June 4 then Pike/Cass the 5th -10th of June. I would like to know what suggestions you all have on various lures for these lakes. I do have some stuff now, jigs in various oz sizes, lindy rigs, some tubes for pans, and some freaking huge things that are floaters with 3 hooks on them and then 5 cowgirls. Any thoughts are greatly accepted and thanked. Kind regards to all, Jeff
For the walleye your jigs and lindy rigs will get you fish. I've only fished Leech a few times but usually finding a point and drift lindy rigs or jigs across the point will produce walleye. Just find the point that is positioned perpendicular to the wind direction so that the wind pushes you across it. Start at the end of the point, drift across it and then if you don't get anything motor back into the wind but position yourself just inside of your last drift path so you drift a new section of the point.
For pike spoons will work as well as spinner baits. You'll likely pike up a bass or two as well doing that.
I'm not much of a muskie guy since I don't have the gear to target them hopefully others will chime in on that.
The pan fish will go for small jigs tipped with plastic, or small leech. Put it under a bobber or just vertical jig it.
