I was doing some research and was curious on the water levels of the lakes in MN? Knowing that you all have had some good snow this year, are the lake levels down prior to winter setting in? How much will the spring thaw add to lake levels or will it be lost to runoff and down stream? Thanks Jeff D

My understanding is there are area's in Central Minnesota that are still down and in need of some Spring Rain/Snow to bring them back up.

I believe pretty much the rest of the State is close or only slightly down form normal averages..

Every little bit of snow and rains helps for sure in those area's.

I live in Ashby in West Central Minnesota. Water levels are very high, alot of roads are flooded over and the sloughs and lakes are full. Yesterday, we got 17 more inches of heavy snow that will make matters worse when it melts. On the bright side, the sloughs will be very full of water and duck hunting should be better than the last few years.

Good Point we certainly don't need anymore Rain or Snow out west and near the Red River Valley or other Flood prone area's.

I know Mille Lacs and the Whitefish chain could use some additional Precipitation to bring their water levels up.
