So I also found out that there is a Trout Stream near my resort in Park Rapids for my trip the first week of June. It is the Straight River. The DNR sent this map. Have any of you fished this stretch. I have never fished for trout, but trecking upstream sounds like a fun adventure. I would plan to fish with a spinning outfit. Anybody have any tips about the area? How do I know what a good spot on the river when I see one? Never mind the photo, I can't figure out how to attach it.
I fish it a couple times every year,There is very little public access the county roads are fishable but you go further from them and ya could be asked to leave,It was a time back GREAT for browns, you still get them but most are now smaller but there are quite a few.I saw a show about it a few months ago bout how they're restoreing it,Ron Sherra?? (spelling)To avoid the tressingpassing I use a kayak and get away from the roads. For Brookies ya might try Cat Creek its good but the same access problems lots of private,I heard the DNR is gaining access points but where I dont know. You'll have fun fishin it tho.
Of all he things I ever done I aint never had too much fun

People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
