It began early this year. The rearranging of the tackle boxes, the buying new gear, pulling out lake maps etc., etc., etc.. I have the new BassPro shops catalog marked and dog-eared. Notes have been taken on current DNR info. Is it only me? Am I alone in the madness? Am I the only one debating jig size and trailers for a low visiability lakes? The list goes on and on. Check in and let me know that I am not completely crazy. Tell me that there are others are feeling the fever too. I would be comforted and maybe I can show my wife that I don't need meds. Thanks my friends, and to all those who are as entrenched as I in the anticipation for the season, I send good wishes to you and yours. Thanks! Lex

You are crazy... waiting this long to start organizing your soft water gear.
You're cutting it pretty close. Are you sure you'll have all your gear prepared in time, I mean its only 2 months until opener.
You better get moving, I've already got my soft water bag packed and ready to go. You never know, it might get up to 115 degrees today and melt all the ice. If by chance it does I'll be ready to go in less then 15 mintues.

I think i want to fish with you. Sounds like you might know a thing or two I could learn. I have about every lure I could need, but that's because I got them when my dad passed. I know a trick or two, but still got a lot to learn. That's why I love this forum. It is such a good place to find fanatics.

Are you kidding. I thought I was the only one that was itching for open-water. Even though I'm going ice fishing tomorrow, I dream of catching my first bass of the 09' season from my boat. I'm looking forward to trying out some new swimbaits I got for Christmas. They are so versatile, I sometimes don't even use my spinnerbaits or spoons anymore. You should see the looks on my neighbors faces when I'm outside in below freezing temps flipping a jig from my deck into a coffe cup. Man I love this website.

Do you see my friends? They called me mad as I arranged and rearranged my gear. I was mocked when it was discovered that I keep a notebook to organize info from magazines and the web with notes taken during my weekly fishing shows. And as I created a chart to figure out which rods were best to use mono. or fluro.. But now as we see a speedy meltdown toward the promise land of open water and long sunny days, I am left with this. Next year, I'll start earlier! Lex

I was practice casting out in the snow the first warm day in January. I usually use one of those yellow plastic practice plugs, but we recently moved to a new house, with a big yard, and I was so anxious I didnt even take off the lure that was still tied on to that rod. Of course, on cast 3 or 4, my knot broke and the Rat-L-Trap went flying. Ive been looking for it ever since. Im pretty sure my neighbor is going to find it in his pool cover some time soon. Not a good way to introduce myself.
