I have been fishing green for the last 4 or 5 days, been getting alot of crappies just under the slot size right at sunset and more sunnies then any ice fisherman can handle! i heard some guys were catching walleyes out here. just wondering if anyone else has been hearing the same? or any other lakes near by getting any walleyes. forest, whitebear or bald eagle? etc. love to hear how everyones doing!!

I did alright on green this last weekend. Kept 8 crappies over the 9" limit...

That limit is killing so many fish and I never even thought about it.. I dropped the camera in and the entire bottom of the lake was covered in dead fish.. off the east shore where it drops off. I'll bet I could see 100 dead crappies right under the hole. Might as well drop the slot if they all die anyway.

What's killing them? The only thing I can think of is you're fishing deep water. That law has some issues with me.Kill 100 to keep 10.Wow!!!

Spotchecker- Exactly what you say, it's The pressure on the fish from coming up 30 ft that's killing them. And fisherpeoples are afraid of keeping a dead fish under 9 inches. Which they should be. DNR gives tickets out for keeping em no matter what the reason. trust me...

It's hard to believe the dnr isn't doing anything about this. What a waste! Any dnr guys on MFP that can explain this logic to us? confused smiley
