so now that my icefishing stuff was stolen I'm ready for some open water action. Is it to early for the river? I see from 94 that the mississippi is now open.

Any one want to share some ideas?

Sorry to hear about your loss. Grrrr mad smiley man I just hate thieves.

I have been getting the urge to go check out pool 2 by Minnehaha creek or hidden falls. but don't know if it is open yet. Anyone been down that way lately?

I've heard the Minnehaha shoreline area is off limits as they work on the restoration project along the creek. All access points will be closed until they finish the project this summer.

Thats atleast what I have heard, I haven't gone down to look for myself.

Hey Nofish, I did read something about the restoration work, but did not remember hearing about access limits. But thanks for the heads up on that, guess I will be on the other side of the river, but the repairs are definitely needed.

Thanks for the info, I hot linked it for you.

Thats pretty much the same thing I heard. The trails on both sides of the creek will be closed during construction.

I still might try to find a way down to the river come april. Its too good of a spot to give up on easily. I spend alot of time down there in April and May so this may put a severe dent in my plans.

Thx for fixing the link.
It will be a tuff one to give up, I know of 1 billy-goat trail down a steep gully, but I would never try it with snow cover, & would be very difficult to carry anything with you, but still... wink smiley

I might have to price out some repelling gear so I can get down the cliff.

You know you are hardcore if your fishing gear includes rock climbing gear.
