Anyone know of a decent bite going in the St. Paul area?

I don't care whats biting or what size, I am just trying to put a guy on some fish.

I was thinking Lake Owasso right out from the beach. I've never fished it but heard you can usually find the small pannies just out from the beach.

Any other ideas? walking out would be preffered, other then that just any small panfish would do the trick.

We will be drilling with hand augers so I don't want to move around very much so I am hoping to find a spot that is pretty reliable.

Marion in Lakeville had been having some panfish and perch going. i had been getting some decent crappies in the boat launch area. very easy to walk out and very easy to fish in the 6-8 feet of water... the crappies i was finding a foot or two below the ice. the sunnies and perch closer to the bottom.

I thought about either Marion or Crystal lake as I grew up in that area, we'll see if I decide to make the drive down there.
