Yesterday i was on the lake with my boy and his friend as well as a few of my friends. When the talk of eating minnows came up, normaly this occurrs when drinking has been involved ,however today my friend tried to get my sons friend to eat 1 minnow for 2 bucks, of course my son grabs the minnow slugs some water and swallows the minnow , then demanding his two bucks. Any way does anyone know of anyone getting sick off of eating minnows, i never have however like i said normally drinking is involved when this happens. my son did not get sick and did get the two bucks!

I've seen people eat live goldfish for charity, but never a minnow.

I'm sorry, but the thought of that thing swimming around in my stomach while it slowy digests is unnerving. I'd need a lot more than $2 . . . but hey, it was a kid, and $2 probably seems like a lot. smile smiley

I've done this off & on for years... They are particularly good with mustard. Both plain american style mustard or the Dijon stuff. wink smiley

There is a long standing tradition in our family. Its called the "Minnow Game"! smile smiley You sit on opposite sides of the ice house and one person throws and the other has to sit back with his or her mouth wide open. All you have to do is make it!

laugh smiley thanks for the response i thought it was a decent thread. Once upon a time, last year at lake of the woods, a newbie was asked to eat a minnow, which he did then puked up ate again and puked again at this point he new he couldnt keep it down so he just held onto it in his lap for a few min, another guy gets hungry and pulls out some sardines , while hes not looking the puker places the fathead under a couple of sardines, long story short he didnt notice until the black goo ran down the side of his mouth and the entire shack erupted in laghter, this of course led to the wrestling match outside the shack and many good pictures and memories!

2 bucks? I had a friend I bet he could not eat a minnow sanwich, He had to put 10 minnows (croppie minnows) between 2 pices of bread and eat it. If he did he would get 10 bucks! A buck each. But that was in 1978. i guess with the price if inflation 2 buck is still cheep these days. But he only took one bite and chewed it up, and started looking green and spit it out. I WON!!
