I was invited to fish out of a sleeper on Saturday just out from Dickie's. We caught a bunch of walleyes, but they were pretty small. Used jigs and minnows and were at 20 to 25 feet. Had another buddy who was out at Fisherman's Wharf and was doing good with the perch. He was fishing 30+ feet using waxies and red colored hooks. It was very windy out on the pond and some with portables were having trouble keeping them down. The perch bite is really picking up, folks. I would check it out.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
