I just found out tonight I'm gonna be in Eagan the weekend of the 1st etc of July.. the boat is staying home cause I'm helping someone move back to minnesota from out east...

So.. in Eagan.. I've read a little about fishing there via google.. but I'm sure there's someone here who can tell me where to find good largemouth fishing from the shore.. I don't mind "bushwacking" (i know.. usually a Trout stream deal) to find nice fish.

on a similar (largemouth) but different (near home) note.. I went for a drive around here yesterday b4 the big storms came and came upon a lake I'd never been at.. and only 15 minutes from the house.. I love doin that AND catching fish right from their boat launch.

I have lived in Eagan for 25 years or so, and fish around here a lot.
Right by city hall is a small lake named Fish lake and nice Bass are caught from shore there. There is also a fishing dock on it. Another small lake with a fishing dock is Carlson lake just off Diffley Rd. Make sure you have a Minnesota license. You can get a license and directions at most Holiday gas stations. They also sell live bait if you think you need it.
Get in touch with me if you need any more info. If you have the time I'll take you out for a few hours.

Bass Wishes

of course I got a license.. etc.. the friend is moving to eagan so I might get down there every 3 weeks.. and what's a road trip without wetting a line or 2... just not taking the boat on road trips there..

Any lake that passes my Bass test of throwing a popper, buzzbait, or GULP worm and catch a fish in the first half hour, I deem worthy of bring the boat out laugh smiley

Personally the only time I ever used live bait was like 18 (I was 12 I think) years ago fishing my grandparents on a couple lakes up here in carlton county. Fished with them a couple years until they couldn't get themselves into and out of the Lund. After Grandma died we brought Grandpa to "Bent Trout" lake up here (a private, pay for what you catch.. no gas motors allowed I think, lake) and he couldn't get into fishing anymore without her around. He never did get out after that b4 he died.... ok.. I went off on a tangent.. but gotta keep the "old" (for lack of better term) people on the lakes and fishing!
