Fishing Report
Guide Ron reports the island bite has had another boost in activity this week after the weather pattern stabilized. Lots of 17-19 inch walleyes and saugers and quite a few 20-24 inch walleye slot fish have been caught. A nice 28 ¼ inch slot walleye was caught and released by a lucky angler this week as well as some nice jumbo perch have also been reported.

Wondering what the lucky lures is? Gold, pink, and white have been the hot jig colors this week tipped with a minnow. The best lure has been a reddish purple buck shot lure with glow in the dark on the backside.

Ice Condition Report

We currently have an average of 30-34 inches of ice on the well traveled areas or the islands and our fishing spots. We are just starting to put on the ice auger extensions. This is a nice base of ice for this time of year that will have no problem taking us into late March.

Snow & Trail Report
The current snow depth remains the same this week at around 24-30 inches. A great time to ride the trails!

Lake Trails
The trails are currently in optimum condition.

Wheeler’s Point to Warroad & Warroad to Oak Island
This trail is groomed every Wednesday & Thursday

Wheeler’s Point to Oak Island
This trail is groomed every Friday

Land Trails
The land trails have all been recently groomed as of Jan 12 and all of the trails are in excellent shape.
Inland trails are all well marked and signed. Many new trails have been added over the past couple of years and are in excellent condition. For more information check out the Northwest Angle Edge Riders club website at www.nwaedgeriders.com/conditions.html

Until next week, hook'em and cook'em!
