The trout opener kicked off last Thursday and the Ely area was well visited. Many people were fishing streamers and lakers as well, more than usual. The 15th we fished stream trout and did very well with mostly rainbows and a couple brook trout. The 16th was tough on our group for lakers, only 1 small one. The 17th was great for me, I had my best day for lakers ever, 4 on, 2 iced, with a few others caught by friends. The 18th was a skunked half-day and the drive home.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~ Chuck Clark
