Just becuase you didn't land a walleye doesn't make Rockman a liar.

In my dealings with Rockman he has always been upfront with his reports, good or bad.

You can think you did everything right but that doesn't mean you are promised a fish. Anyone who has spent more then 5 mintues out on the water should have learned that by now.

There are so many variables that change day to day and hour by hour that can turn a hot bite off and on like a light switch.

All a resort owner can do is point you in the right direction and give you the best advice related to the current reports. The rest is up to you and the fish. And like it or not the fish have the final say in the matter.

I agree 100%!! You could take the money you spent on your trip and buy a gps and move around on the flats, having that as a guide to put you on top of some structure. You spent a day or two on one spot and judge a guy for that. Not hardly fare at all!!! I just had two friends get back sunday, they go out of hunters and drive to the flats, 8 keepers, 1 20", 1 26". For those 10 eyes they had to move four times, and were all caught with jiggin spoons. what did you do drop a minnow under a bobber and have a beer?

I agree, Have you ever hear the saying, Should Have Been Here Yesterday!! Well I have been on both sides of the saying. When I go up to LOTWs, I try to stay and fish 3 to 4 days because of the weather paterns have been up and down so much. After all these years I could never blame anybody for my success or lack of but myself! just a part of fishing! smile smiley

Should have been there the day before I guess. My fishing life has been filled with days where I should have been there yesterday.

What time of day where you fishing and at what depth? Did a weather system move through or was the pressure on the rise? Were you fishing in a crowd or off by yourself?

So many variables to consider, any one of them could have been the difference between getting skunked and a bucket full of fish.
