Just thought I would let you all know that I have had several users contact me to tell me that they were actively recruited from this site to join another forum. Now I really don't mind how many forums you all belong too... heck, I belong to at least 10 of them. BUT, the users were mad because this is the only forum they belong to and someone has been going through our user list and farming emails and then contacting these users to join another forum from another site.

Well, this kind of ticks me off since I didn't start this site as a recruiting tool for other websites. If any of you are concerned about this type of stuff, please hide your email address. To do this, go to "Edit Your Profile" and change the "Show Email" to "No." That way, your email address will not show up in your profile when other users are looking at ya.

Boy... it takes all types, don't it? Anything for a buck, I guess, since this other site sells stuff. What really floors me is I offer free advertisement for anyone anyway... so why try to steal my users? Huh?

I get the same thing happening Webdude at my forum.
The thing is they can come on and promote themselves in the open.
Why go behind closed doors.

I am curious to know who is doing the "farming"?
I am a member of many outdoors sites, & have not rec'd one of these email offers...
yet...
But I have some serious spam-blockers set up also...

Are you willing to tell us the name?

I'd prefer not to. I've got enough headaches and don't want to start another flame war with another site. We've been down that road before... wink smiley
