dunno where the fish are biting.. but havin a kid is pretty much the only thing that can be better than fishing right? (maybe someday i'll "settle" myself and find a wifey (if she fishes)

Even a BAD day of fishing is better than a good day of work; paydays excluded!

Hey walleyewacker,

Congrats on the new baby. I got four myself.

Haven't had a chance to hit Mille Lacs this year yet. I heard that a lot of fish within the slot are being caught on the southwest side. The night ban went off yesterday and the night bite has been good.

Fishing is definitely picking up on Winnie. Been catching fish using jigheads tipped with fatheads. Leeches been pretty good too. Some of the bars have been producing fish around 20 feet. Leeches seem to be working better in the deeper waters, fatheads in the shallow. Caught a couple on the bars that broke 25." Weed beds in the shallows around 8 feet on the north shore been pretty good.

Heard also that Pokegama is producing some nice fish

The Whitefish chain is producing nice fish on the weedlines. Some of them are pretty hefty. I would fish going down to 20 feet. Using spinners and crawlers or leeches seemed to work best for me. Largest caught was 23 inches. Weather sucked this past weekend and there were some lulls on Saturday but all in all a good weekend.
