I am heading up to Upper Red Lake with my son and looking for some honest opinions on Fishing Guides. We are looking to stay in a sleeper for two nights and want to be on fish. All guides say they have the best houses and service. Who really does? Any info would be appreciated.
I would put my deluxe houses up against any other outfit s up here,I would most say most of the outfitters do there best . Mother nature kicks my a$$ quite a bit and throws a monkey wrench is my plans atleast once a week. Bearpaw has a great reputation of putting you on fish as well as waskish minnow staion. Waskish minnow station controlls a big section of the lake. Westwind has some darn nice houses and have a nice fishy area staked out. The south end of the lake also has good fishing areas. There have been a few that were here for the hey days and have since packed up so anyone you go with you should be in good hands, cookie
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
