has anyone been out on Lake Marion in Lakeville yet this year?
i know the crappies have been hitting in the bay right off the public access, but i was wondering if anyone has been having success with northerns or bass?
thanks, i went out and hit up the crappie action christmas week, but i didn't see anyone's tip ups going. so i was wondering if people had a secret spot they fish them or anything. but the crappies were bitting hard and fast, a few tiny walleyes once in a while.
Both the bass & N. Pike have been being picked up near the access, the few times I went to Marion..before Christmas... Unfortunately they were on other folks lines.... I have been fishing there for about 10 years + & this has been a slow year for me there. But I haven't been over there as much as I used to. Keep at it!
Here's 2 of the spots I have good luck in the past..Try just off the point by the sunken road( to the right of the landing, off the parking area there), & also try to the left, where the point goes out from the hillside that turns towards the west.( where the lake turns & goes towards I-35). I have a few other places I go, but I can't say all of them, y'know...
i hear ya about giving away all the secrets. i went out this morning, the crappies were slow today. i only got 6 of them. the perch and the little perch were active. i talked to one of the guys in a spear house and he said he was having limited success. so it sounds like the pike are slow as well.
i will have to check out some of the other places. i might go across the lake and try by the old rail road tracks. i haven't seen anyone over there this year. this is the second year i haven't seen anyone over there... wonder what is up on that side of the lake.
