I just spoke with Buddy Hillman and he reported 15 inches of ice and they are letting vehicle traffic out. ( I wouldnt go over board though as in a 1 ton pulling a 18 ft house.) The road is plowed out to 5.7 miles.
The fishing has been very good from dusk til dawn with most people fishing 1.5 to 4.5 miles out. One of his rentals caught walleyes all night. He did see 4 crappies caught in one house and a single crappie in another last night. That could be a good sign for the rest of the season together with Cookies crappie report.
They are supposed to get alot of snow so always give them a call before heading to Red.
