Dec 10, 2008 Ice Conditions The islands from the Northwest Angles Youngs Bay to Oak Island now have 12+ inches of ice and the lake to the south of Oak Island has 9-11 inches. There are some spots to watch for in channels, so we caution anyone who is venturing out right now to know where they are going and use caution. By our next week open date of Dec 15, everything should be in good shape and the trails will be marked.
Fishing Report Check back next week for our first report of the season! Sportsmans Oak Island Lodge opens Dec 15!
Snow Report The local snowmobile club will be marking the Lake trail from Wheelers Point to Oak Island, this weekend. The Northwest Angle lake trails to Oak Island will be marked later this week. The land trails have not been groomed yet. The average snow depth is now at 6-8 inches and we are expected to get another 2-3 inches today. It wont be long and snowmobiling will be in full swing!
