the story is on www.boundarywatersblog.com

My friend and I went out Fishing on Saganaga on Sat.
It was going to be a day of fishing and some cigars after,
the short of it is the sun started to set and we headed in
or so we thought, we ended up by Canadian Customs, which was OK
just a little off coarse, the sun went down fast we got turned
around in the islands, when it was to dark to see we made camp
on a small Island, was a nice night, I thought we where in
Red Rock Bay, when morning came it was overcast and started to rain
It was still in the mid 30's but getting warmer, cold wet and almost out gas, we headed for a point to make a signal fire and found the Cashe Bay Ranger Station. Made our way in and used the radio to call for help, Thanks to all that helped us get out alive. Chris

Being lost is a scary feeling, especialy when you are running low on supplies like gas. I have been lost in the woods once and lost on a lake once. Neither one were fun experiences! I'm very happy everything turned out ok with you. I know when I was lost on the lake, if I just had a compass with me I would have been fine, but the fog came up out of no where and I had no idea where I was. Like I said, I like the happy ending to your story! wink smiley

Craaaaaaazy!!!

Glad you made it in OK, man... getting lost like that would be a combination of fun and terrifying. Fun in the adventure sense, terrifying in the "OMG we could die out here" sense. wink smiley

Where was the GPS and compass?
