Man!! What a beautiful day yesterday!! My son and I launched onto F-Lake around 3:30 and fished the third basin until sundown.
Started tossing daredevils along a drop-off and about 10 minutes in I got hammered! Took about 10 minutes of back and forth reeling and drag stripping and finally brought in my first mature muskie!! As luck would have it...NO #&$%-ing CAMERA!!! So, a quick measure of 38" and back into the water. That fish was pretty banged up...alot of scarring along it's back and one fairly fresh wound just behind it's pectoral fin but judging by the way it fought (then went ballistic in the boat!) it seemed to be doing alright.
As the sun got lower, we moved to the bullrush and started working topwaters. Its really something else when you see the water explode as a largemouth smacks a lure on the surface! We caught about a dozen bass, most under 12" and a two small pike...all released.
