The slowest I've ver trolled for muskies is 3 mph belivers, super shads and such the fastest being 7. Usually about 4-5 mph is a good start that's what I troll most of my spinners at and have had pretty good luck with it. I used super traps but never had much luck on them. But I have heard that they wrok pretty decent early in the year. But of course I just started trolling here 2 years ago and still have alot to learn.

Thats interesting 7 MPH is fast that must take one stiff long Muskie Pole......I just bought a St. Croix Muskie Pole it's a 6'6" probably to short to troll, I'll be able to pitch with it and the figure 8's should work good with the shorter rod.

What do you guy's use for your Muskie fishing poles.
