Where is the best place to go fishing in the Twin Cities?
I would prefer the southwest metro and exclude lake minnetonka.

It all depends on what you want to fish for, really. Every lake is different, and there's river fishing, too.
If you have a boat, you can visit lots more places, but there's some great shorefishing in the Metro area, too.
Give us a litte more detail of what you want to catch, and how, and we'll give you some tips.
Also, visit the DNR site. It's a great resource for all sorts of Metro fishing.

I looked at all of the DNR sites, they were helpful.
I want to fish on the Minnesota River, where would be the best place to fish or what to look for in the river where fish could be?
I want to fish for all kinds, not catfish.

almost anywhere you fish on the MN. river your going to get catfish,
but your also looking at catching 9-10 different kinds of fish, one of
my favorite spots was down the trail behind the Chaska Court House,
don't know if they rebuilt the bridge over the river but both sides
are good fishing, and theres nothing wrong with Cat's, places on that
river produce up to 60# fish, once you get a Cat that big you don't want to fish for anything else. Chef
