Sorry so long but my wife wanted to make sure her story was told by her! Nels
Thank you one and all for caring and praying. If you aren't believers, come talk to me. Some things can't be explained scientifically. Like I took a disc with a scan of 284 slides of my pancreatic tumor, sandwiched in the duct work from the pancreas, gall bladder, etc, down to this gastroenterology oncologist today. She was the one who got me in immediately at 7:15 a.m. Mon. a.m. As it was explained to me, the first part of the testing was to stage the tumor, so they could try to figure out what treatment might be best. She explained there is now "seeding" for pancreatic cancer tumors, like they do for prostate tumors in men, and there's gamma knife surgery, and some other one she said might be possible. Then she said the second part of the procedure was to insert this instrument that would try to get a piece of the tumor if she could get to it, but there was no guarantee because of where it was located. They'd already told me 98% of tumors where this one was located are malignant, and of that 98%, another 95% aren't operable, and even if they are, the survival rate at best is 5 yrs. and at worst, 3-6 weeks. So, I went in to the OR with God as my creator and sustainer, Christ as my Lord and my redeemer and the Holy Spirit as my strength and comforter and a doctor who probably didn't realize how many prayers were in the works!. No matter how it came out, I couldn't lose. The amazing end of the story is that when she got in there to find the tumor that was on the CT scan slides, it wasn't there. She told Nels she kept trying to compare the slides with what she had on her screen. The only thing remaining was bruising and some mild edema, or swelling. She said there's no cancer there or metastasis to any other organs, there's no cyst, there's no tumor of any sort.
I do have to follow up with the specialist here to find out why I have such a severe case of pancreatitis since I don't have even one of the number of conditions that could cause it. I may go into the hospital on IV's to get that pancreatic enzyme regulated. The highest it should ever be when it's in the danger zone is 300 and my count was 4,008.6 But I trust they'll figure it out. The doc today was pretty serious about the "lethality" of pancreatitis that severe if it goes untreated. But at least I'm here and am convinced God's not done with me yet. Please continue to pray for my Mom, who acts brave but inside isn't, for Nels who is the one we had to keep stopping at the gas stations for yesterday on the way down to Ann Arbor, and for all of our kids and grandkids that they all come to know and accept Christ as their savior so we can spend eternity together with God when things like this don't have a favorable earthly outcome. Love ya'll. Linda

The Lord must have more plans for the two of you.
I'm very glad to hear the good news. I hope everything continues to be nothing but good news for you both.
