Shut out on the Mississippi River?

I have some good spots for shore fishing, my last 6 trips to the river have produced 12 Walleyes/sauger "thats usually what I target if there slow I'll go after Crappies" at least 50 Crappies, 3 Northerns,4 smallies, 1 largemouth bass, 1 7# muskie,4 Catfish,3 Dogfish, 6 silver bass, 1 Mooneye, and at least 10 sheaphead.

I mainly use Fathead minnows with plastics, lindy, bobbers and Rappalas, mister twisters, sometimes worms but I hate digging my lures/hooks out of the Sheapheads bellies so I only use worms when I am out of minnows.

This is a snip from an earlier post. Maybe it will give the users a sense of what I am trying to accomplish here. Tell your friends!!! I could use all the users I can get. By the way, the original thread is located here. It was one of the first threads started after the "BIG database crash." (by the way, i now have more users then before the crash, thanks for signing up and keep 'em coming)...

---------------
Now people, don't get me wrong. I like money as well as the next guy. And who knows, in the future, I may decide to offer some advertising space to some of the big corprations. But if I am going to make a buck, I am not going to make it off of certain types of businesses. I won't charge anything for resort owners, guides, bait and tackle shops, or any other small types of businesses trying to get off the ground. I mean, I don't want to nickle and dime people to death.

And I believe that by not offering paid advertising, this site gets purer posts. What I mean by this is if a guide is doing well, I want everyone to know it. So why make it difficult for him to post about where he is located, his website, phone, etc.? And how about the resort owners. If they have renters who are slamming fish, why not let them let everyone know about it.

If the posts are to be judged by someone on whether or not the poster is paying me money, think of what great limitations are being put on them about where they fish and what they caught. If there are 200 guides in Minnesota and 25 of those guides were paying me money and I only let those 25 post there info on their business, what about the other 175 guides? Seems to me you would get a pretty biased account on where to fish, don't you think????

So folks, the real experts when it comes to fishing are the people who make a living at it and the people who's livelihood depends on it. There is no way I am going to curtail that information getting to the masses. That's not fair to the fishermen, and it's not fair to the businesses. And I believe that going this route with my site is the right and fair way to present information. And I believe that my site will become successful because of this. When people find a place they can go to get ALL the expert info they need, ultimately, I can't fail.

Just my 2 cents.

By the way Fred ***** edited by moderator told me that they are really biting on Mille Lacs. His guide service *********** edited by moderator has been catching 30"+ walleyes all month. If you would like to get into some of this action, call him at ***-***-****edited by moderator. Or better yet, email him at *****@****.com edited by moderator. There is more info on his site at www.********.com edited by moderator.

Get the word out, they are slamming them over there!! ;-)
