Can't bloody wait...can you???

Nope..can't wait to have a bunch of flannel clad, semi literate, super sized ego filled, half drunken, Turty Point Buck slurred singing, self righteous red necks out in the woods looking to kill an innocent animal to prove their manhood to themselves.

Just gives you warm fuzzies all over to think about it.

A guy who has to hunt has no reason to justify it other than he WANTS to make a kill. That is inescapably sick... but then I look at the guys in the bar I hear talking about their upcoming season...and I guess the shoe fits..so they wear it.

How about you save the money you were going to spend on license, gas, shells, gear, scent products, etc. and instead of spending it on murdering and killing you instead spend it on a weekend away with your wife, or taking your kids on a small vacation, or if that doesn't suit you then give it to a charity such as an orphanage, Salvation Army, or some other worthy cause?

How about you use your resources to heal and bless as opposed to kill this year? I ask you.... is that to high a standard to set for you flannel clad, semi literate, super sized ego filled, half drunken, Turty Point Buck slurred singing, self righteous red necks???

Just askin'...but then again..if the shoe fits..will YOU wear it this year?

Another Bambi lover heard from. Let's remove all the other predators from Disneyland too so all the Bambis can live full happy healthy lives and die peacefully in their sleep.

Wow, surfsup did you ever learn not to stereo type people before you meet them. Or did your dad forget to take you out hunting and thats why your so stereotypic. Dude, get a clue about the people you talk about before you start grouping them together.

I am a hunter(far from a red neck) but I only kill for the meat not the sport. When I take an animal I thank it and the creator for giving its self to me and my family.

I know that your just stirring the pot but watch how you stir some people might take offence. wink smiley

Surfsup you are not to judgemental are you. With that attitude I wonder how happy a family life you must have? In our camp we take only mature bucks. If we drink it is social , and nobody touches it during the day. I have never seen one of you nature freaks out creating better habitat for all animals not just deer. I will think of you on opening morning and your absurd rant. All I can say is have a toke it may ease your mixed up outlook

Hmm...I have to wonder what someone who is so anti-hunting is doing on a site like this one, which is dedicated to sticking hooks into poor fishies and killing worms and minnows.

Some folks fish and hunt. Some folks don't. Some folks release the fish they catch. Some folks eat them.

Some folks go to the market and buy slabs of meat all neatly wrapped in plastic. I guess no animal was killed to make plastic-wrapped meat.

This forum is about outdoor sports, primarily fishing, but a lot of anglers are also hunters. It has to do with being connected to the source of food, rather than buying meat and fish someone else has killed and butchered.

To each his or her own. But, perhaps someone who doesn't fish or hunt can explain the attraction of a forum where the members do those things.

Your turn, SurfsUp. Please explain.

I don't usually get into these sorts of things but...

First of all, I doubt that SurfsUp will be back to reply...he's one of those attention cravers that likes to throw a wrench into the works and sit back and enjoy. Where I’m from we called them cowards but that's just me...

I do respect your right not to agree with hunting...that's your opinion and you're welcome to it. I do, however, take exception to your perception of those of us who do agree with it.

Some of the best times I’ve had have been with members of my family in the woods. It’s not a matter of downing a deer…it’s being out there, appreciating nature. It’s amazing what you can see if you sit still and observe. My entire family enjoys venison so when I do take a deer, it is not wasted. I take no pleasure from killing but I do enjoy feeding my family. I know I can go and buy a pack of steak that came from a cow that didn’t have a chance … the deer, however, get the better of me over 95% of the time.

And as far as your mention of donation…have you ever heard of Hunters Against Hunger? That is only one of many organizations that donate tons (and I literally mean TONS) of venison to the needy. I don't recall ever hearing of a tree hugging association feeding anyone.

If the survival of and the overall health of the whitetail deer herd was damaged by hunting and hunters, it would not be allowed. The fact is that the money that hunting generates (through license fees, donations, etc.) and the population control that hunting provides is vital to the overall survival of the species.

I could go on and so could many of the other people here but I won't ... just slung my two cents into the hat.

Like I said...I doubt that this dude will be back to reply...
