Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a fishing guide to take out my friend Michelle and I? It is our girls weekend, and we love to fish, but unfortuanely do not know anyone that has a boat this summer. I have heard that Eddies has a launch, but I am not sure what that means? Please let me know if you know a place that has a good guide, and preferrably a place that will bait the hook and take off the fish....Sorry...we are wimps.... grin smiley

Where are you looking to go and what do you want to catch?

Mille Lacs has alot of launches that will take you out. A launch is just a large boat that the resorts take out with a large number of people. They take you out onto the lake to the hot spots and you fish there, usually with a bobber or maybe vertical jig.

Not sure if they will bait your hook or take your fish off for you. Thye probably will for a tip, or I am sure you know how to play the cute girl card, a little wink and a smile and I'm sure you will get someone to help you out. wink smiley

Thank you so much. I will have to check it out. We don't really care what we catch, as long as we have fun. Thanks for the advice. wink smiley

Thanks for the welcome. We are up for anywhere. I know Friday night we are going to be in Hinckley for a concert, so I think anywhere "up north" would be fine. Thanks for the help. smile smiley

I would suggest getting on one of the open launch trips..
The fishermanswharf has an experience I highy recommend.
there are also private guides you can hire as well, but that will be more $$$$$
Let us know what you decide.

Welcome to the site ladies! Its always nice to have more women around here! I just learned myself to bate my own hook and take my fish off. Although I wont touch a northern with a 10 foot pole! LOL
Good luck with your search!!!

I agree with rickg. There are launch services all over Mille Lacs and relatively inexpensive too. I used to do the launches a few years ago and, if I remember right, they included everything you needed to fish, though I would bring my own gear. Not a bad deal if you get a good captain and you don't mind fishing with a bunch of other people.
