Doug Ellis and Dave Stewart hold a youth muskie tournament each year on Lake Vermilion. It's held in August out of Fortune Bay, and proceeds go to the Range Youth for Christ. Local muskie guides and fishermen guide the kids for a morning of muskie fishing. It's a great opportunity for kids to get a taste of muskie fishing from some excellent fishermen who do it the right way.

Last year these groups received money from the Youth Muskie Tournament proceeds.

The Lake Vermilion Muskie Challenge has both a youth and an adult tournament. The youth tournament is Friday, August 8th, and the adult tournament is Saturday, August 9th. Both events are held at Fortune Bay Marina.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
