I have a Classic by Spartan boat trailer, manufactured in the late 80's. My insurance company is asking me for the serial number. Any idea where to look? I cannot find it.

Hey 4MYBOYZ,

Welcome to My Fishing Pals. Glad you came abord. Hope to hear more from you in the future.

Now, can anyone out there help 4MYBOYZ out? I have no idea where the serial number would be. In fact, I am not sure where it is on my trailer. Seems like it would be a good thing to know.

I have a newer Shorelander trailer, so it very well could be different than yours. But on my trailer there's a sticker with all the trailer specs, manufacture date, all that stuff. I believe that's also where the serial number is. The sticker on my trailer is right in front of the passenger's side tail light.

I also have a similar sticker, but unfortunately, none of the information is filled in!

I searched the web and only found one link with info on the company Spartan. The phone number that was listed no longer was in service!

I believe Spartan trailers was bought by Tebben Enterpries.
Their phone number is (320) 847-2200. they use to be in West Saint Paul, then they move to Mpls and I think they moved again.
I bet if you called them they have someone there that can help you.

has your trailer been painted??? you should have a sticker or metal tag somewhere on the frame. it would be on either side or the top of the frame rails. check down the tongue-both side rails- any crossbeams- and the axle. it has to be there. good luck. if you cant find it. sometimes insurance co will let you engrave a number into the metal on older rigs to identify them. if it is for loan purposes, keeping a picture on file may have to do for them. or both.

If you are standing right in front of my trailer, I walk to the right side, and immediately find a "silver" sticker that should list all sorts of information (located on the tongue, directly below the "wind-up". Problem is, none of the information is filled in.

How did you get it licensed? The number should be on the title.

Here's one for you.I purchased a used, not that used, boat, motor and trailer...Alumacraft, 115 Merc and Karavan trailer from a reputable dealer, I thought, Hoots, and low and behold the trailer license came to me as homemade.called them, called the state and was told this is legit because you can't make out the serial number and they had no title......but the dealer never bothered to tell me that when bought. So it should be fun when trying to trade it in!
