Hello all, I'm now an official Eagan resident and would love some tips on where to find bass. I have a small float boat, so ramps and motor restrictions don't matter. I tried out Fish Lake at the end of last Summer, with no luck. I've scouted out a few of the ponds in the Eagan Fishing Guide, but none look all that promising.
All those lakes are pretty good. But most of them get a lot of run off from the homes round them so the weeds grow fast because of the fertilizers the home owners use on they're lawns. So fishing them is tough.
Yup, some pretty big fish sometimes will suprize you in a small weedy pond. I'm just starting to explore them myself, hardest thing is parking, be aware of city ordinances & curfews. City street parking and some parks close at sundown, others have a set time. I have had a few nearly missed tickets, luckily the officers were fishermen and let me go w/ warnings. But most of the time you will have the whole place to yourself. Enjoy
eagen?... well i've been down there couple times and for crappie and bass action... it's mostly in schwanz lake...a lil lake on cliff and lexington i think... around that area... it's in a park called TRAPP farm park... havent been there in a long time so if interested, i can help give directions! well GOOD LUCK!
If you've got short, stubby fingers and wear reading glasses, any relaxation you would normally derive from fly fishing is completely eliminated when you try to tie on a fly. ~ Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing, 1988
