Yes, on BSL it was a slower then usual weekend for the opener. Woodtic and I did manage to catch a few, though... the largest was a 18.5 inch. Probably caught close to 50 'eyes and released all but 11. I did latch on to a big pike. I got pictures coming, just waiting for Woodtic to send them on over. First half of Saturday was okay, then it rained most of the second half. We actually did a lot better on Sunday fishing dropoffs and edges. Most of the guys we knew were up in the rivers. For the 'eyes, we pretty much used leeches with lime or metallic green hooks and a sinker all weekend. Woodtic became partial to a bottom bouncer which he did okay with. Tried throwing out fatheads, but that just aggrivated more pike... caught a lot of pike. All in all, another opener done and gone. I am going to be hitting some local lakes this coming weekend. Crappies should be good, eh?
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
