After two months of recovering from surgery I got to get out and do a little fishing yesterday. My brother in law and I hit a lake by Mora for some Crappies. We drilled our first hole at 0930 and caught 4 nice crappies(10 ") in 20 minutes. Than the fished just died. So a lot of action on the flasher, but just could not get them to bite. We had to leave at 1:00 so we gave our fish to another group of guys. They had just caught 14 Crappies, just as we were leaving.
We did not catch a lot, but we saw a lot on the screen. I know if we would of had more time we would of did good.
It was just nice to get out of the fricken house!!!!!!!
The best part of this time of year is you don't need to drill holes if don't want to. Just bring a pair of steel toed boots and you can hole hop for hours. I'm going out a couple times this week. Sooner or later I will be back making a living. My poor wife has to work all day, so I told her I have to go fishing to feed the family. She is not really buying into it.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
