Where is everybody going for the Walleye opener this year.

Here is my list of options:
1. Mille Lacs
2. Big Sandy
3. Wisconsin
4. Lake of the woods

Lets see what the rest of you are thinking!

Walleye at the end of the Gunflint Trail open later, so they can get threw there spawn, but for Walleyes I'll be on the Seagull River, I
think this year it will be around May 24 that we can fish Walleye,
on Sag and the Rivers that flow into the lake, There are some small
lakes that are ok, but it is also when Trout opens in lakes, It is a
toss up, but also Steelhead open in April in the Tribs going into
Superior. Chris

I don't do the opener thing anymore. Used to since I was a little kid and my dad would take us. Haven't done the opener for about four years now. Got tired of dealing with the traffic, crowded landings, crowded lakes, etc. (or maybe I just got to old and grumpy). Now my opener comes after the real one. Plus I usually open on Osakis now and the Wally bite there hasn't really started yet at that time. You can still get them that early but the lake hasn't turned on yet.

Leech should be really good this spring. The small walleye grew fast last summer and in the fall we caught lots of 15 to 17 inch fish with a few bonus 25 inchers for excitement. Another good thing about Leech last fall is nobody was out there. I had no trouble fishing for hours on end with out drawing a crowd. Dave
