Great opener for most all fishermen that would move or change colors. A lot of limits and a lot of small & slot Walleye put back. Mallard point off the point in 8 to 9 then boat traffic moved the Walleye. West of Mallard point in 7 to 8 then mid afternoon the Walleye moved out to 9 to 10. Late afternoon in front of the bird houses in 13 to 14 gave a lot action. The new Gypsy jig with the silver shiner color worked very well. We then changed to the glow-watermelon 1/8oz and tipped with a shiner did the trick. Monday morning all the same spots gave up some nice Walleye with a 27 ½ coming off Mallard point. The main thing is check the hook for sharpness, just ask Lynn.
What a great time we had up there as usual, Sure was fun fishing with Captron again for the opener, I tell you if you are ever deciding or thinking about going to winnie and need a guide Captron is the guide I recommend 100% and for lodging the Big fish supper club and lodge now has cabins. Can't wait to get back up there everyday we were there we could have been back in @ 10:30 A.M. But remember to make sure your hooks are sharp.
