There are hundreds of great trout streams throughout Minnesota. I have fished the Baptism up the north Shore for some excellent fishing - rainbows and browns. All up and down the shore there are a lot of rivers and creeks that dump in to Lake Superior. The trick is getting a few mile inland away for the big lake. Also up in the Finland area, there are hundreds of streams and small trout lakes, I bet you could find a bunch on the DNR site. There can be some great fishing up there. Golden Eye, Echo, Twin.

Also all over southeastern Minnesota are lots of places, State parks etc. with trout in them. Bear Creek, Splez Creek Straight Creek etc. Also maps are probably available on the DNR site.

As an angler in SE Minnesota, I can tell you some good public locations. I keep my private locations to myself... smile smiley

SE Minnesota has a great deal of trout streams. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/fishing/trout_streams/south_mn_maps.html

I'm including an interactive map at the link above.

I'd like to tell you which ones to hit, but 2008 will be a learning time for all of us. Last year we had horrible flooding that wiped out a lot of the stream projects. It turned tame streams into raging white water.

I like Camp Creek & South Branch(Fillmore), Beaver & Winnebago (Houston. Also, just across the border in Iowa, try Bear Creek and Waterloo.
