Anyone used one of these, it looks pretty cool and not to hard on the pocket book. I would like to hear peoples opinions!

From what I have heard the reviews have been poor.

No interference reduction feature, poor performance in cold weather, less then quality craftsmanship are a few of the complaints.

I think you would be much better served paying a little more for a Vexilar FL-8 or Marcum Lx-3 for sure.

My fishing partner, I call him my net-man, bought one over the holiday season and he uses it everytime we go fishing while I use my Vexilar. Everytime the situation is the exact same. Say were in 16 feet of water(fow), it starts by me saying, "my Vexilar is reading 16fow" and him saying, "oh-the showdown reads 13fow." Then an hour or so you hear him saying, "man, what's up with this thing, it reads 13fow then 22fow then back." I sit quietly and fish. Then another hour or so and he hits the roof stating, "man, I knew I should have spent a little more on a Vexilar, I can't believe I bought this thing!" He still uses it everytime though. To me, the showdown does it's job for the most part, has glitches here and there, and may not always be the most accurate, but it's better then nothing. Overall, it comes down to the basics-you get what you pay for.
