I have a fly set-up I bought from cabellas last year and want to learn to use it for panfishing. I think it would be great fun to use it during spawing when fish are in the shallows, and it would also add an element of sport. Dangling bait in front of a fishes face just doesn't seem fair. Looking for good suggestions on how to learn to fly fish better. primarily the casting mechanic. I know that you can get books and find videos online, but I have tried and it hasn't really produced results. Maybe there is a good fly fisherman in the elk river area that could give me some one on one pointers, or know of someone who offers reasonable priced classes.

I also have recently gotten a fly rod and was in need of some help. I went down to Thorne Bros. and the guy behind the counter in their fly fishing area pointed out to me that they'll be having a fly fishing seminar, where they'll teach you all the mechanincs in one of those indoor golf domes. I can't remember where exactly but I have the directions he gave to me on my fridge. The class is on the 19th I believe and costs $25. Which I think is preety cheap for some good one on one training with a pro. I'll post back with all the info. when I'm home.
