I headed up to an Aitkin county lake on Saturday morning with a small group of friends. It is a small lake so I am going to protect the name. We started out with beautiful 22-degree weather and then the wind picked up! My son and I were using the new Otter Ice Camo Ice house. I have finally found an icehouse I really like! Check out the video of the wind! We were really laying the smack down to the crappies and sunnies using spring bobbers and hair jigs. We also had waxies and crappie minnows but the hair jigs were the ticket. As soon as the front made its full entrance our fishing was done for the day. We ended up with a respectful pail of fish and through a good amount back for seed.
Now I know that your boys can out hunt you (see your last hunting report) But out fishing you I thought that could not happen. Thanks for the report see you later this season
Our tradition is that of the first man who sneaked away to the creek when the tribe did not really need fish. ~ Roderick Haig-Brown, about modern fishing, A River Never Sleeps, 1946
