I mainly fish this lake in the summer but my friend who lives on the lake let me in on whats going on and told me I could post it.
Upper St. Croix Lake,
The North end of the lake is producing lots of fun panfishing. set up around 13-16 ft.. some northerns and an occasional bass are being caught out their too. The houses are spread throughout the entire bay area and most people are doing well. Crappies have moved to the deeper water and have been active, not many big ones but a lot of average sized ones are being caught. My buddy told me that the walleye bight has been slow for him but he has had a few as night rolls in while fishing crappie. I know he is a panfish guy not really a walleye hunter so I'm sure the eyes are bighting somewhere since the lake holds an abundance of em. I forgot what he has been catching them on but hopefully he comes and signs up to the forum. I told him too...
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
