I just purchased a Mr Heater Big Buddy heater and love it! It gives you the option to use 1# disposable LP tanks or use an optional hose for a 20# cylinder. I used mine last weekend on Mil lacs to Sleep overnight in my Otter Lodge - since my accomodations at Dickies Portside were so bad - and it worked all night with no problems. I ran the battery operated fan all night and it was running in the morning, I plan to leave my 20# cylinder home when the weather is mild and I'm only going for the afternoon.

handyone,
First of all Welcome to MFP !..

I also run the Big Buddy heater it comes in great i used it when i had a
house fire it ran for 3 days straight and went though only 2 1/2
cases of 1 pound cylinders i have been using the energizer battery's
and only replaced them once so far this winter..
now that i can drive out on the ice i have been using a 20 pound tank
and a hose with a filter..

Good luck fishing..

I bought the same one this year works great. I haven't put batteries in it yet. Does it make a difference? I've been using a 20 pounder. Whats the deal with the filter? I haven't heard of that.

I'm being to think the battery choice makes a difference..

By adding a filter to the line on a 20 pound tank it take the oil out of it so the oil don't plug up your heater ..

Iceman I meant does it make a big difference if you use the fan or not. I havent tried it yet. Just wondering if its worth putting batteries in or not.

Thanks

Yes it makes a huge difference i use the fan mostly
on high when ether warming me up or the house by
adding the fan it pushes a little air to the back
of the house so it all don't go up..
