Forest lake has been producing some 'eyes and crappies but they have been small. Been finding most at around 30 feet and suspended. Most everyone is catching stuff with just a few eaters here and there.
I've been on Forest a couple times the last two weeks.. The fishing has been good for me. During the evening I have had luck in 20 ft. of water on lake 1. Eyes and crappies were both sitting a foot or two off bottom. With both eyes and crappie I have found a few big fish..gold jigs with minnows have worked best for me. A big walleye (that I missed) is still their as well as the 14.5 inch crappie that we released. My friend told me he has had some good action around willows point, but it looks like a crowd around the point and he didn't catch anything with much size. But might be something to consider.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
