hey all, just wanted to say I'm brand new to fishing forum. my old man is getting me into this now i think; his addiction is becoming mine. heading up to LOW this coming week on the 4th with big Powerhouse Bar bus out of Proctor. Gonna be staying at Ballards and am so excited to be hanging with my pa (only ICE) and his bud Dick fishing, drinking, and having a hell of a time. Break from work will be nice. My second trip to LOW in just over a month. Wondering what's the news up there, what color is hot, and where the walleyes at. Believe we'll be off the reef if not mistaken. Got some golds, blue/whites, purples/whites, etc. Am pumped. HOping to bring home some fish or my wife won't ever let me go again. Just kiddin sorta. Awright, I'm out. See you all in LOW. See ya Monday, pa!

Hey Doc B,
Welcome to My Fishing Pals. Glad to have you aboard!
Good luck up on LOTW. Ballard's is a great place to fish out of. A little birdie told me that the saugers and 'eyes are being caught up there and the last couple of weeks have been very good. Hope you catch a bunch!

Welcome to the site Doc! Sounds like you will have a blast even if the fish dont cooperate.
February can be a tough time fishing at LOW. The fish seam to be running and gunning themselves. I like to use blue and gold #2 or #3 Jigging Rapalas and I cover the depth spectrum with my Marcum. Do not be afraid to come 10-15 feet up for them. My second Go-To lure would be a pink and white Angle-Eye Jr. from scenic tackle. This jig provides a little slower flutter as it falls. Dont forget to pound the lures down into the mud! Let that Rap hit the bottom 4 or 5 times and then lift it up 6 to 7 inches and let it sit for 20 seconds. Pound it back on the bottom 1 - 2 times next but this time let it sit on the bottom for 5-6 seconds. Slowly lift and if it feels heavy set the hook! You will be surprised how many fish will pin a dyeing minnow to the bottom of the lake for a easy meal!
Good luck and dont forget to report back!

Doc B good luck up on LOW. Fun place to fish. As fas as you Pop's given you heck about setting the hook. We've all done this. I've had several times after setting the hook I pull up the hook and only lips left on the hook.
I'm taking my kid out today. He's only 7 so it will be a while before I can bring him to LOW and have a beer. I can't wait!
Welcome to the site. There is a bunch of good guys/gals=fisherman on this site with a lot of info.
