Which one do you use and why? I have an older FL-8, love it when I'm buy myself, but hate the interference from other vexilars. It has the IR button, but it's never perfect.
I own a vex FL-8.. Yeah, it works fine. But as far as interference the Marcum works way better. I can't even use my vex when my bud has his Marcum on, but the Marcum works perfectly. I can't complain though because he warned me of this situation when I was shopping for a flasher. I think its almost time for a camera though.
I have an FL8 and FL20. I was fishing on URL in a 6.5x14' King Crowe two weekends ago with five holes. We had a FL18, my FL8, another FL8 and my FL20 all going at the same time. I felt a little like I was on the starship Enterprise with all the electronics going. The sound was comical especially when the furnace would cycle off. There was some interfearance, but it wasn't bad.
Watch out if you get a FL20. The lenz cover can get scratched easily. It costs $42.00 to order a new one from Vexilar. The dual cone 9degree and 19degree is nice for running and gunning the fish. The batter life on both is awesome. We fished 4 days and I had a solar charger with and it charged and ran during the day and battery at night. I also have a Marcum VS560 camera, but I'm not a big fan. Its bulky and hard to fish with. So far, I prefer my Vex for getting on the fish and bringing them up.
Good luck.

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~ Chuck Clark
