I agree --- totally. With the billions spent yearly on all the gadgets and doodads, a simple thing to save lives is a good thing.

This has obviously not hit the news as of yet. No news services report anything for carbon monoxide poisoning in Minnesota since January 7th.

I agree with the sentiment, though there is nothing on the news wires for this as of yet...

Make sure you don't cover the intake manifold on your heater with snow either. My CO detector went off this weekend it was so cold that the air had little ice crystals and snow accumulated in the intake and eventually clogged it after 10 hours of run time. I was lucky. crazy smiley

I have a portable fish house I made out of canvas and thought the material would breath enough for a coleman stove. Boy was I wrong. 1 hour into fishing I had to go outside to answer to the call of nature. I got a terrible head ache when that rush of cold fresh air hit me. Gotta leave that zipper open a little.

I just did a Google search "carbon monoxide poisoning Lake of the Woods" and there was an article in yesterday's Star Tribune, as well as a few others.

For the cost, these are not bad things to have in your regular house either. You never know when your furnace might start malfunctioning.
